STREET BONERS and TV CARNAGE » AIR GUITAR CHAMPIONSHIPS IN BROOKLYN

I judged the Brooklyn Regional Championships last night and every contestant sucked. It made me think maybe capitalism is right and the rent is cheaper in Brooklyn because it’s simply less good than Manhattan. Where the one in Bowery Ballroom had dudes jumping off 15 foot Marshall stacks on to curtains, the Brooklyn version had a guy leap off a 3 foot amp on to the stage (not kidding). Williamsburg produced 2 of the past 4 world champions. (All of the champions are Asian BTW – no idea why).

Shreddy killed it of course and showcased his patented move of switching the fret hand so we were going to give it to him by default BUT, at the last second, Bettie B Goode (pictured above) threw her boots off, ran backstage, up the stairs, through the crowd, and on to the lighting rig where she did her solo 50 feet in the air. This amazing feat cost her a toe which I got some great pictures of just for you. Prepare to barf…

Hot Lixx Hulahan had to accept the award on her behalf because she was in an ambulance.

STREET CARNAGE is mostly a website that features street fashion critiques called STREET BONERS and compilations of bad television called TV CARNAGE. The site also has a blog, a radio show, and regularly features video shorts made by Gavin and Derrick.

STREET CARNAGE is also a live presentation you can have in your town where Gavin shows a Street Boners "Best Of" and Derrick shows his latest TV Carnage endeavors.

STREET BONERS will eventually be compiled into a huge book which will feature hundreds of pages of Boners as well as contributions from Chloe Sevigny, Debbie Harry, Fred Armisen, Tim & Eric and many more.

Derrick makes videos for various bands as well as his own movies. His most recent project is called "Cop Movie" and is comprised of about three dozen different cop movies and he also has a workout video coming out that is made up of a million disgusting workout tapes. Gavin does freelance writing for TV, film and magazines and they both do funny acting stuff as well as other hilarious video shit we'll tell you about later. They are both dicks.
