Always Never Busy (ANB) is a hip-hop crew we started today to raise awareness about hip-hop consciousness. We are not a rap group (though we do consistently give shout outs to all 4 elements – that is to say: MCing AKA rapping, breakin’, DJing – also making beats, and of course, GRAFF). We are an organization that is about awareness and basic, just eye opening of what’s around us and how it affects the hip hop community both here, in New York and across America and the worldwide.
Though we support KRS ONE’s hip hop university (is that still going on?) and Lady Sovereign’s campaign to stop people form not wearing hoodies and Public Enemy’s thing with not buying jewelry and we hate Oprah and people who want to censor rappers, our primary focus today is snitches. Snitching is the worst thing in our community there is. It is worst than AIDS and crack and murder and even cops. In fact, snitching is inexorably linked to all these things. They are basically the 4 elements of snitching. Snitching is never OK – ever. If you live next door to a serial killer get like Cam’ron and MOVE (peace to Busta Rhymes for keeping his mouth shut about Ramirez). If you know someone in your neighborhood that is a snitch you are doing a disservice to your community by letting that motherfucker get away with it. If you give even the slightest shit about hip-hop you will contact ANB or the people at stopsnitching.com and let us know who they are. Let’s do this you guys. Together we can make a difference! I can’t tell if you’re joking or not. Knowing it’s you guys, you probably are making fun of the whole stop snitching code with 2 references to Cam’s 60 Minutes interview. (Did you hear Cam on Hot Mess when he opens with “It’s young 60 minutes, a.k.a one hour / a.k.a SK, AK gunpowder” Cam only put half the effort he usually does into the Public Enemy mixtape and it was still the best rap album of ‘07, Graduation was a close second.)
I don’t know where this ANB shit is going, but if you keep dropping Dipset and/or Clipse, I’ll keep reading.
