AMERICA’S NEW DIET: SQUIRRELS
CNN wants you to think being so broke you have to eat squirrels is a bad thing. They quote old people saying “It was a uniquely disgusting thing … to see my grandfather take a stewed, skinned squirrel’s head, smack the skull’s dome with a heavy silver tablespoon, and dine on the brains,” but they’ve obviously never tried squirrel melts. Them shits is delicious.

I eat squirrel all the time it’s not so bad kinda like the darker meat from a rabbit and they’re super easy to skin and clean also eating brains is really good for you and there are plenty of ways to cook them to hide the taste if you don’t like it fucking whiny people my grandpa loved to make squirrel brain gravy and brain perogis

I’m from Michigan and eating squirrels is no big thing. My grandparents and parents did it. I’ve never really heard of ppl eating the brains. like somebody above said, gravy. It’s just meat. Have you ever eaten rabbit? It’s a game animal. In Wisconsin they hunt cats(they dont eat them tho) go pick on them. Ppl from Asia and the southern US eat Nutria, which i consider to be way weirder than squirrel. Get over yourselves CNN.

I eat nutria to sometimes I use to eat it a lot when I lived on a remote farm close to the water source they lived in because I knew that what they where eating was really clean the problem with most nutria is that they live in really polluted water and eat stuff that grows in and around it if they are near the city I just let my dog kill’em she loves it but she wont eat them either

I went to college in the country in Ohio, and this farmer friend I had used to shoot, skin and eat anything that moved. He fed me fried squirrel one time and it was fucking dee-licious! Mind you, these were big healthy country squirrels — not your NY city rats with bushy tails. But I would definitely eat that again.
