public schooling isn’t the only option for corrective spelling lessons. If the government took less taxes (I didn’t have to pay for my neighbors brat’s shitty public school education) not only would I be less pissed about taxes, I/people would take more pride in the money & things I/they own because it is solely mine/theirs.
It’d also help with the horrific teachers union & create more of a competitive (better) atmosphere for teachers. Then we wouldn’t have 92 year old ButtFuckTom teaching Geography & hating every second of it. The kids can obviously tell, which by the way isn’t a great learning atmosphere.
Fuck, I mean it works for colleges, how come it can’t work for k-12?

Our educational system is way outdated. It was originally designed so that fresh off the boat laborers and indentured servants could work all day while their bratty little kids learned to assimilate. Far too many teachers are glorified baby sitters. They shouldn’t be able to earn low six figures. Ever. Some do. That said, I don’t really have a beef with money going towards education, as long as teachers aren’t making more than $35-50 thou. For fucks sake, they get the summer off. You want to earn money as a teacher, get a fucking PhD.

It’s a fucking 6% tax increase, which isn’t that drastic (they’re just returning it to the rate it was during the Clinton years). It won’t even affect most people. John Stossel has offered $1,000 to anyone who can name one thing the gov’t does better than the private sector. Education is obviously not one of them as we’ve seen voucher programs do incredibly well almost everywhere they are tested. Besides, studies show, throwing money at education bureaucrats does nothing to grades. The only thing that improves education is putting the fear of god in teachers so they have an incentive to not get fired.
Garbage? Private sector does it better. The gov’t made up recycling and pretended it was a huge deal so they could tax us more but most private dumps just let their dolars work it out.
Prison? Well it’s kind of scary to think about private institutions that have an incentive to get more people in jail but look how it is now. Nobody gives a shit who’s in jail. Innocent people rot while bureaucrats push paper around for decades.
Roads? Private roads you pay for are always better kept and run smoother than public roads.
The border? This might be the only thing we shouldn’t let big business handle itself. The temptation to ignore the flow of cheap labor may be too much to resist.

Right now your driver’s license is run by the government. Renewing it is a fucking nightmare of line-ups and bullshit. And it’s not like they’re careful about who they give them out too. They heard illegals might vote for them one day so they gave them licenses.
Things that are relatively privatized include choosing a restaurant, going to the grocery store, cell phone providers, CDs, um, appliances, and basically everything about going on vacation. All I can think of when I think of those things is: Variety and Options.
And racism is actually a great example of where privatization flourishes. The gov’t are the dummies that screw people over with diversity mongering and putting people into groups. All big business wants is whoever is good for the company. If 100 black men are best at making grapplegrummets, 100 black men it will be. They don’t care what race you are. Same with women. The proof women don’t really make less than men emerged when someone said “wouldn’t a company hire all women if they’re such cheap labor?” Of course they would. Math isn’t sexist. The truth is women get paid less because they tend to value family more than staying up all night trying to get the Seagram’s account.
