Rats are too smart for traps. A few may die, then the others see it and know to stay away. Same with poison. Shooting them with a BB gun is heartless and cruel. It’s unlikely you’d hit them anyways. And, do you really want poisoned dead rats in your walls? I think not.
I have three pet rats and they’re wonderful. A black berkshire fancy, a black dalmatian rex, and a champagne bareback fancy. Rats are great when you understand them.

Its all about glue traps because you can use them multiple times. Sometimes if left in them for a few days the animals will begin to knaw off their legs in an attempt to get out. Fun to watch.
