I’m sure your readers are too young to remember this but Robert Crumb did a hilarious comic called “When the Niggers Take Over America.” It was a parody of America’s Black fear but plenty of people took it totally literally and it was banned for racism (which I think is based of fear of black retribution which was his whole joke in the first place. You guys are into irony, right?) It’s still illegal to sell this comic in Canada.

Anyway, I was watching 2012 the other night and couldn’t help but notice, it’s basically the same joke – by accident. This is a world where all scientists and politicians are black and guess what happens, the world explodes. Check out this review from CNN…
“Chiwitel Ejiofor is the scientist who brings this to the urgent attention of the White House back in the good old days of 2009. By 2010 the president (Danny Glover) has let the other G-8 leaders in on the secret, and plans are under way for an emergency evacuation of the best and the brightest — or, at least, the executive elite and anyone wealthy enough to reserve a seat at a billion euros a pop.”
and then later…
“We’re used to seeing African-American presidents on screen, but an Oval Office scene where the president dismisses the token white aide (the excellent Oliver Platt) to confer with two black colleagues? That’s a first.”
How does God feel about this Black-Run America? Not great. He destroys the whole place. Vegas gets swallowed up by the desert. The Grand Canyon caves in. Malibu is swept away. It’s Sodom and Gomorrah a million times over.
So, Robert Crumb set out to lampoon racism by describing an America run by blacks but it blows up in his face, then director Roland Emmerich describes an America run by blacks but it blows up in the whole world’s face.
Emmerich has accidentally said God is as racist as the people Robert Crumb was making fun of. Ooops!
Sincerely,
-Joe D
Joe,
You’re funny. Will you write more stuff for us?
Sincerely,

Gavin is the worst judge of talent.
Why not ust hire Crumb, as 98% of this post was generated by him. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if you paid him for the use of this comic, while you’re at it.

What’s up with this nigga making the same movie thrice? And no, I use that term assuming he’s casting BLACK people because he’s WHITE.

are you retarded? it’s just a fucking coincidence. right now, we have a black president. lately, a lot of tv/film presidents have been black, because hollywood was trying NOT to be racist. 2012 is set in 2012, obviously, which i presume would be a world where a black man could/would be president. it’s not like they made the year 2012 up out of their asses. if the year had been further in the future, maybe they would have had a white person, or a woman, but they wanted to make it seem current and more easily paralleled to today in 2009. in other words shut the fuck up.

The reason there is a usually a black prez in these future movies is because they are trying to make the future seem different and evolved. Now that the president is brown, the movie presidents should be a hamster.
