SHP is a 30 year old London homeless charity that is putting on an event to try to encourage a more inclusive arts scene. The event is called Artival and will be a festival vibe affair on 4 floors of a leading Hoxton venue. The event will be free to everyone and includes 8 comedians, 4 bands, 2 DJ’s, one story teller, mosaic workshop, graffiti cave with spray cans available, live painting, roof top terrace. Also there will be an art gallery show packed with art made by people being supported by SHP and the launch of a new youth led social enterprise. The event really is an attempt to create a more inclusive arts scene and involves the work of many ‘outsider’ artists.

SHP not only believes that being creative is an excellent way for people to overcome difficult periods in their life but also believe that an arts scene that involves everyone will be truly worthy of celebrating. The best way to guess the number of Jellybeans in a jar is to get as many diverse people as possible to guess the number and take the average. This is called ‘the wisdom of crowds’. Street art is the finest example of employing this wisdom to the art world. SHP hopes to take this one step further and include not just the ‘man on the street’ but the man and women who may have lived on the street too.

London is but a step away from achieving this. Please support this charity to achieve this noble aim.
