I’m not sure if this is “dear street carnage” material, but I thought it was fucking hilarious and sort of up your satire alley.

Yossi Atia and Itamar Rose are two filmmakers and satirists from Tel Aviv who are sort of the Israeli versions of Borat, except that they are dealing with the real-life shitstorm that is the Arab/Jew conflict. Essentially they manage to capture the psychosis of two peoples caught up in an unending conflict, and milk the stupidity of the situation.

They have a bunch of shorts on youtube, my favorite of which are:

1. “Gay in Israel” in which they ask Israeli families picnicing in a park to pretend to be their parents as they “come out” to them. The acting on the part of the random Israelis is hilarious.

2. “Missles in Ramat Gan” which is described as “On the premise that missiles will no doubt fall in Ramat Gan one day, Yossi and Itamar interview the public as if they have just fallen, capturing mock-reactions versed in the language of war unique to the Israeli psyche. Basically Israelis are fucking crazy.

3. “The Jewish-Arab State” Yossi and Itamar head to the Palestinian town of Taybeh, to ask its citizens about a future Arab-Jewish State. As a new unified citizenry, the identity of the “other” must be re-established with new scapegoats and enemies, those that everyone can hate together. They have Palestinians draw a new flag and figure out if they will hate the Russians, the US, or lesbians the most in the new “Jewish Arabia”.
