Last night I went to a screening of the Baader Meinhof Complex and wow! What a bunch of fucking nutjobs. There’s sex and violence, but what’s riveting is the film’s depiction of how easy one can slip down a flawed fanatical wormhole. When you see it, you will long to bang the RAF’s sexy revolutionettes and knock the teeth out of Andreas Baader, but in the end your sympathies will lie with the head of the German police force. That’s my revolutionary command.
PS: A talk with author Stefan Aust moderated by Kurt Loder following the screening was complete with kooky leftist Germans still in support of the RAF and MTV.
