there comes a time in every “up and coming” band when they find out they get a raw deal out of this shit. Steve Albini penned it so well when it came to these kinds of situations.

personally i don’t care for people with their 1980’s/1990’s views about “the man” and “selling out” because although i dislike ruthless corporations, bands losing a grand is not high on my list of reasons why.

My contempt arises from the clear fact that they’re not having fun, that they’re getting in the way of my fun by bitching about getting fucked over by the world. Sorry, but that’s boring to me, and if my boredom in the face of their crying makes me “too cool for music, then so be it. I could give a fuck about these jive ass mofos becoming band #39587423985793457398 to get fucked over by the music industry. It’s a non-story. 99.999999999999% of the people out there roll out of bed in the morning and start getting fucked over by the world. Why should I give a shit about these children and their 1K? Their whining is absurdly naive and comedic. Add to that the submissive yes sir/no sir desperate doggy face they put on for MTV, and we have ourselves a full-blown hipster scum farce. In other words, I am having fun…at their expense.
