I’m volunteering for drunk tank service tonight along with superstars like the singer of Les Savy Fav, Mr. Mickey, some chick from Vogue and some dudes called Costello Tagliapietra. All proceeds go to Added Value. I’m going to be channelling my Right Wing Extremist side because I’ve been arguing with Crass fans on Southern Records Forums all week and have had ENOUGH of the left. It’s pretty cold out this evening so if you’d like to see me suffer, this is a great opportunity.

Here’s what the organizers said…
Bird and Vena Cava are hosting a disco-carnival block party at the Bird Williamsburg store for Fashion Night Out on September 10th. We will be having an art opening of new work and video installations by fashion photographer Susanna Howe, carnival games, a dunking booth, a roster of amazing DJ’s (Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem, Justin Miller, Holy Ghost!, Justine D and Matt Cash), food and drinks from local restaurants, caricatures by J Penry, a gourmet ice cream truck and face painting by Shandoah. Vena Cava is making a limited edition dress to be sold at Bird for FNO. The dresses will retail for only $100 and are fabricated from ten archival prints from over the last ten seasons. Vena Cava is also raffling off a free dress and studio tour. We will be donating 10% of the proceeds of our sales at Bird as well as all proceeds from the carnival games and snacks to Added Value, an urban youth farming initiative based in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
The main event of the carnival is a “fashion celebrity” dunk tank. We have a great roster of friends with a generous nature and great sense of humor that have agreed to get in the booth and risk a public soaking and humiliation – FUN! Gavin McInnes, Mickey Boardman of Paper Magazine, Kathyrn Neale of Vogue, designers Rachel Comey, Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos as well at the boys of Costello Tagliapietra have all agreed to get wet for charity – should be a blast!

Also, Built By Wendy is having a block party in the city near their Center Street store on Centre Market Place.
FASHION’S NIGHT OUT
Thursday, September 10th: 6pm -11pm
Built by Wendy will offer 15% off all new Fall 2009 Collection this
evening only!
DJs, Food, Photo Booths, Music, Complimentary Drinks, Afterparty,
Dancing
Come on out!

Built by Wendy parties are always chock-o-bloc with 10s so I’d recommend trying to go to both. One thing you can do is take the Grand Street Ferry from Grand St. in Manhattan, over the river, to Grand St. in Brooklyn. It’s only two bits. Oh wait, they stopped running that in 1874. Seems like yesterday.

Wow, in the last two days you made seven posts on a bulletin board? I would be exhausted with that kind of mental exertion, but I’m sure it’s no challenge for a genius like you. Keep up the good work!

If a “celebrity” falls and no one cares, are they any more tolerable?

Instead of throwing the baseball at a button that will cause Gavin McInnes to fall into a tub of water, can I throw it at his face instead? I am willing to pay up to four times as much money to do this.
