This is the kind of idea that only seems plausible after a four-day dust binge. It also proves why we don’t think that it’s such a bad thing that companies do a little market research before pushing their half-baked ideas on the rest of us. I’ve watched this video 27 times and I still can’t understand how it made it past the blueprint phase. How cocky was the team behind this failure? There’s no way the Le Run could have made it past a focus group full of MTV minds. Was this the brainchild of some punk who managed to infiltrate the organization in order to bring it down from the inside? This contraption is the equivalent of putting sunglasses on a flower, or a skateboarding cat.

HOLY SHIT. I worked in a bike shop in Cambridge Mass. in 1998, and there were about 3 of these things in dusty boxes in the basement… they looked like they’d been there for a while. I built one and tried to ride it. It’s like a unicycle with little training wheels. We actually sold one for $5 or so.

I really saw one of these ads on MTV back in the day, they probably could have given them away with the later karaoke machine they were trying to sell.
