If tonight you find yourself in the armpit of America (New Jersey), skip calling the number you took down off that bathroom wall and head over to Court Tavern in New Brunswick for a good time. There the Future Kids will be throwing the latest in their series of monthly dance parties. Expect cheap beer, great DJs, and the subsequent drunken, dancing college kids. I was at their inaugural bash and it was great in the way that the only good party in a complete shit-hole of a town can be. Here are a few photos from parties past:

I’ve always found calling “indie X electro” whatever bullshit nights “parties” an insult to parties. You’re paying for booze. It’s not some kid’s birthday and everyone’s invited. Etc etc etc.
Call it something else but it’s not a party.
