Is it getting hotter each year? No. In 2004 the lineup was among the best EVER yet it was 120 fucking degrees. This year I don’t know if it hit 100 but it was bearable for at least 2 days.

Do the bands suck because nobody has ever heard of them? NO! Just because you haven’t heard of a band doesn’t mean they suck! I kept hearing people say “Coachella sucks this year, nobody’s ever even heard of any of the bands!” Well there’s a shit ton of bands playing but a lot of them are very fucking new and a few of them are very fucking good.

The problem with Coachella is that fucking Goldenvoice made it three days and there is also a decent amount of complete bullshit filler. WHAT THE FUCK were Scars on Broadway doing playing Coachella? I stopped by the tent while passing out of curiosity only to discover the worst fucking metal/hardcore bullshit I have ever heard. That shit already has it’s place at Ozzfest sidestages before anyone shows up, and maybe Warped Tour, so why the fuck were these fucktards playing Coachella?

So all in all, I have mixed feelings about Coachella now, but not enough to write it off just yet. Next year is the 10 year anniversary. If STP and Guns ‘N Roses headline, somebody shoot me. That shit needs to be kept to the albums in my honest opinion. Ideal headliners would be reunited bands that never sucked: Talking Heads, My Bloody Valentine, The Replacements, and fucking Gary Numan. And I don’t know if Peter Schilling is still alive but if he played Major Tom for 30 minutes straight I’d have a wet dream for the cumming weeks.
