The third and final post on our book publishing debut about train surfing in South Africa. This episode focuses on the most experienced member of a gang called V.I.R.U.S. (Very Intelligent Riders Usually Survive).

SEVEN
He’s small and scrappy and he’s been caught by the police so many times he’s really fucking paranoid about going to jail (which would mean being beaten and fined as well as confined). Today Seven focuses on being the lookout and helping other surfers go undetected. He lives at home with his mom and his three sisters.

In his bedroom in Soweto, South Africa. None of his family know that he surfs trains.

Doing a trick called “Graveling” which entails dancing along the moving gravel at 45 mph to create the illusion of running at the same speed as the train.
