Margo Simms is the latest subject on Style Like U, a fashion blog that visits happening people around town and takes a good look into their closets. The last time they caught up with her she was wearing a bodysuit and pirate hat announcing how much she loved being the center of attention, and while she has now progressed to pointed fetish heels she can’t walk in (not that anyone actually can) and a self-made feathered denim vest, I still think she has cute style.
What I think works for Style Like U is that, for the most part, the people they visit are actually doing something that warrants getting all dressed up for. Whether it’s singing or styling or running their own shop (case in point: CC McGurr, one of the best visits on there by far). For the most part I’m pretty bored with a lot of fashion blogs that do nothing but post photos of themselves or people on the street in whatever new, trendy, expensive, or thrifted outfit they’re wearing. If I wanted to look at people do nothing but pose in outfits I’d put in an effort of getting into more shows during Fashion Week or sit on the edge of the park and watch the girls parade out of Barneys. I’m not dying all over myself because you have the latest hot item if you’re simply standing around your apartment doing nothing or just have a pretty face.
