Ultimately, I think the cartoon is a statement about the importance of civil disobedience, and the risk inherent in subverting social norms. In any protest, even against the most obviously unjust laws, there will be those who push the envelope beyond the pale. This lovely young woman, innocent in her nudity as Eve before the fall, is challenging the anachronistic, puritanical norms promulgated by the old agrarian, booze addled codger (society’s old guard). However, while the reader might sympathize with this simple act of defiance (who wouldn’t want to take a dip in that bucolic setting, sans sartorial accoutrements), he must also accept that she is fouling the water supply with her urine. The message here is that change is not easy, and that while change is inexorable (the farmer can do little more than stamp his feet in outrage by the banks of the river and gesture at the warning posted), it will bring bad along with the good.

In the first one, the sheriff-man is pointing to the sign and asking it what it’s up to. He’s obviously pissed off that the sign isn’t doing its job properly and to demonstrate his ire, he’s going to smash the woman in the head with a rock and then have a danger-wank behind the jail.

For the last comic: Notice only one hand is showing. He is jerking off with his other hand. Post no bills is a reference to blowing his load on the fence. The open window with shutters is a reference to her gaping vagina. The “Have i forgotten anything” is her talking, but with a slap of sarcasm. Like, “Yes, i am not wearing pants and I did it on purpose, but if you want to touch, you’re going to have to drop the rake and get a job”. The fence symbolizes the reality that he has no chance. hahahahaha
