Lizzie Bougatsos from Gang Gang Dance came over and we did a radio show that sneaked in 3 songs off their new album Saint Dymphna (out next month). It’s hard to describe this band so we asked the dictionary and this is what SHE (that’s right, we’re feminists) said…

1: Weird New York art noise dance band commonly described as “neo-primitivist” or “new-tribal.” They play long structureless songs that sometimes sound like Kate Bush but have Grime MCs do guest things and occasionally get so dark you want to run away from home.
They are surrounded by a weird mystical craziness that is so intense it’s really fucking scary. Vocalist Lizzy Bougatasos burst into flames on stage once during a fire show and was hospitalized for months. Another vocalist, Nathan Maddox was struck by lighting and killed after saying for years he would one day like to be struck by lightning and killed (no joke).

UPDATE: Their old drummer was just shot through the chest. He’s fine. It didn’t puncture anything of consequence so they just stuck a bandage on either side and sent him home. No stitches even.
