Now that I’m back from Iraq, everyone has three questions:
1) Who I voted for
2) What my feelings are for the “Iraq war” now
3) If I ever killed anybody
Well, for some odd reason, no one has asked me how well “democracy” is going in Iraq. It’s the entire “mission” now unless you discount the search for those WMDs (they’re out there SOMEWHERE!!!).
I can tell you this much about democracy and imposing it on other countries like Iraq, and my statements are the following:
A It’s not the real main priority over there
B We really should not impose a political system we do not actual practice
C Iraqis are too culturally backwards and stupid to have a democracy (see video above. That’s them trying to master the complex art of Jumping Jacks)
What I mean by statement A is that if you want to know the real main priority in Iraq, all the operations I have seen out there are meant to maintain permanent military occupation in the country. As in, HOLY SHIT WE ARE NEVER GONNA GET OUT OF THERE. From what I have seen with my own eyes, THERE IS NO FUCKING WAY, this country shall be allowed to vote some random yahoo into the White House who will actually get US troops out of Iraq. I really fucked up not documenting and photographing the candid construction efforts I have seen which basically show the determination to stay in the country indefinitely and this was throughout 2007 and the beginning of 2008. Unless all these contractors knew who was gonna win the election (or at least know what they actually do once they get in the White House), there is no fucking way we will ever leave that country. Which brings me up to my next point B:
B American democracy is a total farce with someone pulling the strings and the last thing running the show is your vote. Now depending on who you are, “the powers that be” may run through the gamut from Jews to space aliens. I really don’t fucking care. I am convinced democracy is a lie and the only purpose we have for elections is to prop up the best looking puppet figureheads, so I think it is fair to say we should not try to get the Iraqis to practice a political system we do not actually practice ourselves.
Yes, I am agreeing with all you lefties that we should end the US occupation but then again it is not up to me how to run American foreign policy nor is up to the Iraqis. Not that I believe in the liberal notion that American occupation is undermining “real democratic efforts” in Iraq in anyway, it is just that it is kinda impossible. Which brings me to my last point C, Iraqis are too fucking retarded to have a democracy.
You know, if the US occupation were to end in that country, the Iraqis would probably “vote out” any real constitution and “vote in” the Shiite version of Saddam Hussein. Now, what you people do not seem get is, some cultures are not exactly compatible with “democracy.” They are like cows. If you want them to do something, they need to be cattle prodded with some sort of fascism. Sorry but that’s how countries like Iran, North Korea, China, and Russia have done things and it has worked out pretty well for them. Well not really, but they are “stable” countries running outside of “US imperialist” interests.
Iraqis treat their women like dogs and make them cover themselves from head to toe. They pray five times a day to Allah. They are virulent anti-Semites (ALL of them). They are a culture that makes the American Bible Belt look like a God-less gay pride festival and they definitely do not want that part of their life to change. The majority enjoys this life and that’s what democracy is: Majority rule. People confuse democracy too much with tolerance. Tolerance is one thing: Allowing people to have differing view points, which American culture has advanced in, but the Iraqis (and most other cultures throughout the world) believe in annihilation of other lifestyles/political parties for the preservation of one. That’s what Western idealism brings to the rest of the world. Messy democracies bound to fall apart with this notion “everyone will get along.” A quite liberal notion I might add.
Sorry, but with that kind of retarded mentality, there was bound to be problems. It’s no surprise, from what I’ve seen, the Iraqis are only good for killing each other. Sad to see we were some part to blame for putting them in their third world condition but that should not excuse them for being stupid. Just look at ‘em. Look at those Jumping Jacks. UNBELIEVABLE.
Come to think of it, I do not even think most Americans and the rest of the first world are better off in the intelligence department. Have you ever been inside a mall? That’s basically most of America. The average IQ in this country is 100. You probably don’t know anyone with a 100 IQ. It’s only 20 points away from retarded. Do people barely smarter than retards deserve democracy?

Sharing your personal experiences as a soldier is a good choice. Writing a trite overwiew of the war in Iraq is a bad choice. You’re not Noam Chomsky. The things you wrote have been said before in a better way again and again. Another things this article could have accomplished: make the statement that Iraq simply is not ready for democracy in a less racist way. People are unable to state that the Iraqi citizens would actually probably want a fascist leader more than a benevolent leader. They’re not more stupid than people from any other country, though. And I bet you’re kind of kidding when you use the jumping jacks above as proof, but you also said abhorrent shit like this: “the Iraqis are only good for killing each other.” Also, anti-semitism is very common in Iraq, but that doesn’t mean that every single warm body over there hates Jews. It’s sad that you can’t realize that. It’s ironic that you proceed to call others stupid after such blatant bigotry. It’s ironic that you turned critisism of Iraqi prejudice into a fresh form of prejudice against Iraqis.

I’ve worked in a steel mill, but the worst job I ever had was a summer job teaching English to Arab-Muslims at an American university. Some of them were cool, but the vast majority of them were the most racist, misogynistic, ignorant, jealous, abusive, whiny, hypocritical, greedy, bush-league manipulators I’ve ever met. I came away from that experience completely creeped-out just knowing that people like that exist in the world. I got fired because I informed one of the more fundamentalist twats that the McDonald’s burgers he was feeding his child had buns that were cooked in pork grease. I got fucking blamed because he, according to his religion, had consigned his own child to whatever horrors they think will occur if they eat swine AND for giving him the info he needed to stop. I consistently complained about their abuse, but was told by university admins to shut my pie-hole and swallow it. You see. It’s different when they’re racist to me instead of vice-versa because their racism is a part of their beautiful culture that we must respect and tolerate. I came away from that experience with an equal disdain for Muslims and the white liberals who sold me out with their spineless inability to uphold their anti-racist morality. From that experience alone, I fully support the complete nuking of the entire Middle East. Have a nice day!

Taeil, I’d like to see you provide evidence that the majority of liberals, or even a considerable minority of liberals, believe the following:
1. That the U.S.’s economic and military exploitation of other countries is mostly motivated by racism.
2. That one ought to justify and support Marxism and “communists who you would brand as freedom fighters.”
Also, how can you be so certain that exploitation, at least the level of exploitation that takes place today–domestic and international–is inherently “the way of the world”? Would you have said the same thing about absolute monarchy if this were 18th-century Europe?

Exploitation is and always will be the way of the world. That’s just how it is and Marxist theory is fucking dead (Thank God). No one takes that seriously anymore. Absolute monarchy still exists today in some countries and is manifested in different forms (aka dictatorships). Again, this will go back to my argument of deposing these monarchs for democracy a futile and shitty effort.

As for the exploitation bit–you don’t seem to have understood that I was talking about degrees (“at least the degree to which…”), which I suppose also made you incapable of understanding that absolute monarchy was also exploitation, to a degree. But I’m too lazy to say very much more about why you’re wrong; just know that if you read one book or another, maybe it’s at the library, you’ll really know what I meant (for sure).
